Romance and sentiment

What is in an invitation?
For a picture perfect wedding it’s the small details that matter. Your day is ultimately all about the two of you and sharing this special time with equally special people. Pictured above is an invitation, information sheet with reply card bound with a pearl ivory ribbon bow. Adapted from the Enchant collection

Sending beautifully packaged aide memoirs is a good start to alluring guests’ whilst echoing your personality as a couple. Add beautiful calligraphy or personalise each piece by printing guests’ names and addresses. A personal touch to an invitation means even the envelope will likely be treasured as a keepsake – thus savouring the investment. Hues of champagne, romantic blush pink and dove grey are still a huge favourite for the classical English wedding.

Ideally invitations along with reply card and a supporting information sheet should be arriving on guests’ doormats with as much notice as possible. Traditionally 6 weeks has always been a good time to distribute wedding memoirs. But with far-flung family and friends it is best to give your guests as much detail of your arrangements to avoid any disappointment.

Reply? Or not to reply?
The small but mighty RSVP is a key device to keep markers on whose attending and who is not. Include a reply card and self-addressed envelope as part of your invitation package – and you can ensure a swift reply response. By adding a stamp (although an extra cost) will also save you precious time and establish your preparations as planned.

The tone of your day has begun and you want guests to feel that this day is as exclusive, as you do and entice them to a wedding that they will remember for decades.

Less really is more...
Spare your invite of clutter and only include the where, when and who. Your invitation is all about the style. The finer detail such as expected time of arrival can be dropped onto the information sheet, as well as venue address, directions with a map; and other elements such as menu, contact details and even your cheeky wedding present request.

A beautifully hand folded information sheet, bound with a band then neatly packed with an invitation and reply card is the attention to recipients that reaffirms just how special they are.
